The work emerged from a collaboration between artist Boris Acket and producer Elias Mazian. Inspired by Mazian’s album Vrij van Dromen, they explored how repetitive patterns found in nature, such as rippling water or grass dancing in the wind, could be translated to the stage. For the installation, Acket developed a system of motors and fans that allows him to manipulate the movement of an enormous sheet of fabric with extreme precision.
Through the interplay between technology and natural air currents, EINDER explores the tension between control and surrender. Although the motors guide the fabric, its movement remains unpredictable. Accompanied by a soundscape of natural and electronic sounds, the installation transforms before the viewer's eyes into a vertical surface of water.
EINDER acts as a simulator of nature, holding up a mirror to humanity's desire to control the natural world, a force that, at its core, can never be fully captured. It is a hypnotic work that comes to life anew in every space and is never the same twice.
