On 21 October, monumental music, art and architecture come together to celebrate 30 years of ADE. The Concertgebouworkest will perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony with 70 musicians inside Amsterdam’s monumental Centrale Markthal, conducted by Riccardo Minasi beneath the largest-ever version of Boris Acket’s EINDER.
Beethoven builds his symphony layer by layer around its iconic rhythmic motif, constantly transforming it along the way. Above the orchestra, EINDER will shift and reshape, creating a choreography that is never the same twice.
To mark the opening night of EINDER, Boris Acket will introduce the concert personally, followed by a unique element composed especially for this evening.
Based in Amsterdam, the Concertgebouworkest has brought music to life for 138 years. The orchestra’s unique sound takes it to the most prestigious concert halls in the world.
Since 2020, the orchestra has been working closely with Klaus Mäkelä, who will commence his tenure as chief conductor in 2027. Riccardo Chailly is conductor emeritus, and Iván Fischer is honorary guest conductor. Her Majesty Queen Máxima is patron of the the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
The orchestra sees it as its responsibility to pass on the power of symphonic music. The musicians share their knowledge and experience through the Academy of the Concertgebouw Orchestra and the international youth orchestra Young, while the orchestra trains young conductors in the Ammodo Masterclass and through the Bernard Haitink Associate Conductorship. With innovative concert formats and performances outside the concert hall, the orchestra inspires new listeners.

Doors open 1 hour before the concert starts. The Centrale Markthal is accessible via the footbridge, which takes approximately 15 minutes to cross.
Please plan your arrival accordingly and make sure to be at the entrance to the footbridge at least 30 minutes before the concert starts to ensure you reach the venue on time.
To ensure the best possible experience for all guests, entry is not permitted once the concert has started.
Access to the Centrale Markthal is via the footbridge. Walking across the footbridge takes approximately 15 minutes, so make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the concert at the entrance.
The complete performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony has a duration of 35 minutes. But, to celebrate the opening night of Einder, we're extending the concert programme to offer you a more immersive experience. For this special occasion, we've added two elements created especially for the evening.
Artist Boris Acket will open the concert with a personal introduction, and you will experience a unique glimpse into Einder, composed by Boris Acket especially for this evening. With these additions, the performance will run for approximately 55 minutes in total.
This concert has no intermission.
Coats and small bags are allowed. If you bring a large bag or backpack, we kindly ask you to store it in a locker. Please note that we do not have space to store large suitcases or other luggage.
Bringing your own food and drinks is not permitted. Drinks are available at the bars.
There are toilets available at the venue. You can find them in the back right corner, behind the black curtain.
Feel free to capture your visit with your phone. Professional photography gear (cameras with changeable lenses) and accessories (tripods, flash, etc) are only allowed with permission of our team. Tickets for Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest x EINDER by Boris Acket cost €49, excluding the service fee.

The Centrale Markthal is accessed via a footbridge. After contacting us by email, wheelchair users can arrange to be met at the gatehouse and assisted to the venue.
Two parking spaces are reserved for visitors arriving by car with a wheelchair. These spaces are located to the left of the main entrance of the Markthal, on the south side of the building. If you would like to use one of these spaces, please let us know in advance.
